GOTS Certification for our buttons

A further step towards more traceable and responsible supply chains

At Gruppo Uniesse, material research brings together aesthetic performance, knowledge of manufacturing processes and an awareness of the role each component plays in the creation of the finished product.

This approach is reflected in the approval issued by ICEA, which assessed six types of Gruppo Uniesse buttons according to the applicable criteria of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), version 7.0.

Buttons made from urea resin, polyester resin, horn, mother-of-pearl, corozo and bone are now approved for use in the manufacture of GOTS-certified textile products.

This result has a tangible value, particularly at the design stage, as it enables designers, brands and textile companies to identify components that have already been assessed according to a recognized standard, bringing aesthetic choices into dialogue with supply-chain requirements.

For Gruppo Uniesse, this step forms part of a broader path in which material research and attention to responsibilities across the supply chain progress in parallel. The approval therefore strengthens a way of working grounded in process precision, technical expertise and the ability to meet increasingly complex requirements.
